Carpentaria Contracting (CC) and Carpentaria Marine Services (CMS) is a locally owned businesses operating out of Cairns and Cape York Peninsula. The Hire and Construction arm of the business specialises in projects based in Cape York Peninsula, Torres Straits and Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) and has a head office in Weipa. Our Marine Services operations are based in Cairns and Weipa and conduct projects both Nationally and Internationally. We have a commitment to People, Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment. ALWAYS GROWING TO MEET CLIENT NEEDS

Carpentaria Contracting was started by Managing Director Vance Wallin in 1994. His initial concept for the business was to hire out some machinery. That was in 1994. Since then, and thanks to Vance’s lateral way of thinking, CC has continually grown and expanded to meet client demands and is today a multifaceted company incorporating land and marine operations.

Vance is still at the helm and his strength to recognise opportunities, together with his hands on attitude and work ethic, means he remains engaged in all levels of operation from being behind a desk closing a sale one minute, to driving a crane the next. Vance provides strength and local experience at the helm of CC and CMS. He is a long term Weipa resident and understands the social, economic and commercial realities of working across the Cape, the Gulf and beyond, into the Torres Strait Islands and PNG.
